Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland - Core Programs

Seana Rutherford holds a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Akron and a master in nursing from Ursuline College. Since 2015, Seana Rutherford has worked as a nurse practitioner at Premier Physicians. Away from her clinical work, she was previously active in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Cleveland.

The BBBS of Greater Cleveland’s two core programs for interaction between “Bigs” and “Littles” are community-based and the school-based programs. In the community-based programs, the Bigs can take their Littles on outings such as museum visits, strolls in the park, or playing ball and listening to music.

The school-based programs focus on having the Bigs meet their Littles either in their classroom or on the playground. While sometimes, the communication focuses on reading together or discussing classes, other times, the Bigs and Littles just goof around on the playground. Both parents and teachers believe that the interaction between children and their Bigs is a positive experience.
